The Cleveland Cavaliers are in an enviable position.
If the blockbuster deal goes through, they’ll have a point guard in Isaiah Thomas who’s coming off a year where he outperformed Kyrie Irving (with a considerable amount) during the regular season.
Even when the trendy of the acquisition remains debatable, LeBron James is going to be able to withstand more responsibilities, while Jae Crowder and Kevin Love team up to maintain the 2016 winners playing at a high level. Let’s not forget the effects of incorporating Ante Zizic as depth, either.
If the transaction is vetoed because of Thomas’ wellbeing, the Cavaliers will either soldier with a malcontent Irving or even find a taker for the point protector. In any circumstance, they’ll stay filled with talent.
This offseason will be deemed a failure if they can’t find a massive yield for Irving–and the Thomas swap surely qualifies as such–since fixing their biggest problem (defense) wasn’t exactly done with the improvements of Derrick Rose, Jose Calderon and Jeff Green. However they could score with aplomb, which should make them favorites.
Because his age swells, james does not seem to have declined whatsoever. Love enjoys more chemistry than with his superstar teammate, and Tristan Thompson is only advancing. Nearly all of the pieces fit, but it’s 1 brimming over with talent, although this may be an old roster.
